Overview

My Name is Amy Sutcliffe, I am one of the Team Managers for the Kirklees Talking Therapies Service, here in Huddersfield and Dewsbury. We are a friendly and supportive service, where our staff are valued and contribute to service development. Our team provide NICE compliant psychotherapy incorporating Counselling, CBT and Guided Self Help to clients in primary care across Kirklees. This is an 8 to 8 service Monday to Friday, and we offer sessions either by Microsoft Teams, telephone or face to face.

Responsibilities

We hold clinics both in Trust premises and also in primary care settings across the area to ensure that we are nearby for the people that use the service. You will work to provide counselling in a primary care setting, using NICE compliant psychotherapy approaches (Counselling, CBT and Guided Self Help). Sessions may be delivered by Microsoft Teams, telephone or face to face. You will contribute to service development and support clients with common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety disorders.

This is an autonomous role; you are expected to possess advanced communication skills and an understanding of clinical risk.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Completed an advanced diploma in counselling.
  • Experience of working in mental health services.
  • Two years post-qualification experience (2 years post qualification experience).
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of anxiety and depression and how these can present in primary care.
  • Opportunity to enhance skills by attending the PCE-CFD training.
