We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an OT (Operational Technology) Maintenance Manager to join our team working across Cornwall. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a salary of £45,877- £55,377 per annum plus a car, excellent benefits, and development opportunities within our Operational Technology function.
As our OT Maintenance Manager you will be a highly capable engineer and manager to one of three ICA (Instrument, Control and Automation) teams based in Cornwall with travel around the region. You will lead a team of Technicians ensuring the availability, serviceability, performance, and security of operationally critical OT/ICA assets. You will use data, strategic awareness and experience to steer preventative maintenance and fault resolution activities, working alongside operational colleagues, to ensure a 24 x 7 x 365 service for our customers. You will be supported by an OT Planner, assisting with the planning and scheduling of work on ICA assets and systems. You will maintain a knowledge and skill level appropriate to this specialist area and participate in an out of hours standby roster.
What you\’ll be doing:
- Establish relationships with operational management in drinking water and wastewater functions to understand objectives, technology deficiencies and site criticality to ensure alignment on delivery priorities
- Ensure OT/ICA assets are maintained and operated to the correct standards, improving process compliance
- Manage requests for delivery, incident, problem, and change, using established processes
- Ensure Technician workload is managed by providing support to the OT Planner, using technical knowledge and operational relationships to prioritise work baskets and reactive maintenance
- Develop and maintain planned maintenance routines to ensure serviceability and resilience of instrumentation and control system assets
- Provide timely response to operational issues, performing onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex problems. Ensuring a reactive maintenance capability to respond to incidents 24 x 7 x 365 and enforce adherence to established standards and change governance
- Responsible for providing technical leadership and advice to your team, colleagues and other stakeholders, as well as driving maintenance and efficiency optimisation
- Support team members through 1:1 and appraisal processes to ensure objectives are met, personal development is achieved, and recognition is gained
- Manage spend within budgetary targets, provide regular reporting on operational and capital expenditure
- Ensure adherence to department information security policies
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Mathematics, English and a Science subject (or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Relevant industrial control apprenticeship, qualifications, or training
- ONC/HNC in relevant discipline
- Compliant with current IEE Regs
- Experience of process control and electrical systems, working with PLCs including management and programming, understanding communication protocols and knowledge in calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation
- Experience working with drinking and waste water treatment automation processes
- Knowledge of working with Risk and Method statements
- Active approach to health, safety and wellbeing of themselves and colleagues
- Excellent IT skills and a technical bias
- Good communication, interpersonal and organisation skills
- Ability to complete UK Government Security Clearance (SC) process successfully
