We're looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to play a key role in delivering capital projects from construction through to final handover. Working across multiple sites, you'll ensure assets are commissioned safely, compliantly, and to the highest technical standards, supporting successful project delivery to time and cost. This is a hands-on, site-based role with varied projects, offering the opportunity to work at the heart of operational delivery and make a real impact. We are open to applications from candidates based across Devon and Cornwall.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for capital projects through to operational handover
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and CDM regulations, raising and addressing non-compliances
- Reviewing contractor commissioning plans, RAMS, and technical documentation
- Acting as a key point of contact for resolving site-based technical issues
- Supporting Project Managers to achieve delivery targets
- Attending FATs and SATs where required
- Assisting with plant testing, sign-off, and performance verification
- Ensuring all commissioning and close-out documentation is complete and accurate (e.g. DELTA, MADE, hard copy)
- Producing reports and supporting investigations as required
- Participating in project meetings, design reviews, and internal working groups
- Engaging in engineering development and progression schemes where appropriate
What we're looking for:
- Essential: Degree-qualified in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 10 years' industrial experience, ideally with an electrical or ICA bias
- Strong technical knowledge across commissioning and project delivery
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to travel regularly, with infrequent overnight stays
- Desirable: Experience within the process industry
