We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a Water Treatment Hub Site Technician to join our team based in Restormel on a full-time, permanent basis, with a starting salary of £26,812. Following a successful competency review, your salary will rise to £28,747, plus a supplement making your total gross salary £45,379. As part of your development within this role, you will be supported with a Water Treatment levels 1 to 5 progression scheme where you can receive up to £33,102 (basic) and £48,036.13 (total gross) plus company benefits and rewards.

As a Water Treatment Hub Site Technician, you will play a vital role in operating a complex water treatment site and associated plant and equipment. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, have a dedicated team player philosophy, and be focused on providing clean water for our customers by ensuring that water quality and quantity is kept within the company's high standards. You will manage out of hours alarms for spoke sites in line with company procedures.

Shift Rotation: The team are scheduled to work a 6-week rolling shift pattern, ensuring 24/7 cover, and this is something that you will need to be contracted to from day 1. The full shift pattern and non-working days can be discussed.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Ensure that potable water quality and quantity is maintained within company standards having due regard to abstraction licences and the requirements of the distribution.
  • Carry out operational maintenance on equipment and instrumentation in accordance with work's schedules and instructions.
  • Take water quality samples and carry out on-site analysis as required in accordance with works' instructions.
  • Complete water quality and operational procedures, records/log sheets.
  • Perform routine and non-routine tasks in accordance with the operational requirements of the site.
  • Ensure that good housekeeping is carried out, maintaining the works in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Ensure that all abnormal events are dealt with in accordance with company procedures and are reported to the resources and production site manager/DFM.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with works', company and statutory Health and Safety regulations, ensuring behavioural safety culture is always adhered to, Homesafe principles are adopted/enforced.
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders to ensure optimum performance of site equipment.
  • Participate in shift work standard rotas as necessary including providing additional cover for operational demands and staff absence when required.
  • Carry out automated tasks scheduled through the Technician PDA/EDA device.
  • Ensure that all chemicals are stored, handled and used safely, effectively and economically, in line with company procedures.
  • Monitor, optimise and control spoke sites through active remote control and liaise with the spoke site WT Technicians to resolve site alarm issues and reduce call outs.

What Are We Looking For?

Essential:

  • A good level of Maths, English and IT.
  • Experience and knowledge in Water Treatment or other relevant process.
  • Use of computer systems for standard software packages and knowledge of PDA/EDA devices.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels of the business.
  • The ability to reach sound judgements and decisions when dealing with complex issues and operating in highly pressurised situations.
  • A Full UK Drivers Licence.

Desirable:

  • NVQ 2 in Operating Process Plant / or a HNC in Water Operations - or working towards it.
  • Mechanical, electrical, ICA or scientific background.
  • To be able to understand the principles of COSHH, Lone Working procedures and Basic First Aid.
