Ready to make a splash? Join our team today. We're looking for an Assistant Estates Surveyor to join our high-performing Estates Team, playing a key role in delivering vital water and sewerage infrastructure across the South West. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career or looking to transition into the surveying/property sector. Whether you're a graduate, have relevant experience, or are interested in developing through an apprenticeship route, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role: As an Assistant Estates Surveyor, you'll help manage access to private land required for major infrastructure projects. Acting as a key link between project teams, landowners, legal advisors, and contractors, you'll support the end-to-end process - from initial landowner engagement through to agreements, access, and compensation. You'll gain hands-on experience working on multi-million-pound projects, learning from experienced professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, ensuring a clear audit trail
  • Support data collection and analysis to help progress projects effectively
  • Liaise with legal advisors on property matters, including leases and agreements
  • Monitor project progress and coordinate actions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with property due diligence for new sites and acquisitions
  • Manage records, reports, and the property management system
  • Track and process financial activities including orders, invoices, and reporting
  • Support compensation, royalty payments, and stakeholder communications
  • Prepare reports and contribute to board papers
  • Coordinate meetings and provide administrative support where required

What we are looking for: We're open to a range of backgrounds. You might be:

  • A graduate (ideally in a property-related field), or
  • Someone with relevant experience (e.g. property, land or planning), or
  • Looking to start a career in surveying through training or an apprenticeship

And you'll ideally bring:

  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence communicating with a range of people
  • A proactive, 'can-do' attitude
  • Ability to manage your own workload and work as part of a team
  • Interest in property, land, or infrastructure
  • Full UK driving licence

What's in it for you: We know our people drive our success - so we're committed to offering an excellent range of benefits, including:

  • Generous annual leave + bank holidays
  • Discretionary Bonus
  • Competitive contributory pension
  • Share-save scheme
  • Health benefits & wellbeing support programmes
  • Group discounts
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Financial support services
  • Development and training opportunities... and much more!

This is more than just a job - it's a chance to build a long-term career in a supportive environment where you'll gain exposure to complex infrastructure projects and develop professionally with expert guidance.

Our core values, which are essential to our success, are:
