At Bristol Water we’ve been making people healthier and the economy stronger since 1846. We’ve served generations of families and will serve generations to come. We’re here to have a positive impact on people and the planet for generations. We don’t just give people water – we keep them healthy and help them grow. We work around the clock, testing our water hundreds of times every day and we treat our 600 employees with the same care – giving them jobs that keep them healthy and help them grow. We’re one of the smallest water companies in the UK, which means we’re nimble and can achieve things quickly for our customers and people. In June 2021 we became part of the Pennon Group, which also owns South West Water and Bournemouth Water. As part of our team you’ll get the dynamism of a small company and the security of a large organisation.

  • Support other activities in the Water Distribution Network such as trunk main walking, mains flushing, leak detection and valving for potable water reservoir inspections.
  • Carry out all work so contamination is prevented and understand what action to take in the event of contamination or a suspected contamination.
  • Take part in standby and call‑out rotas as necessary to maintain the effective delivery of the Drinking Water Service.
  • Provide excellent service for all stakeholders – especially customers, public authorities, other bodies, and colleagues.
  • Carry out pre‑works site assessments to either propose or ensure the CWS solution can be implemented.
  • Provide onsite requirements including traffic management, land entry, required equipment and customer liaison.
  • Deploy traffic management and logging equipment as required.
  • Oversee any 3rd‑party contractors carrying out CWS activities on behalf of Bristol Water.
  • Ensure Supply Interruption targets are at the forefront of all operations.
  • Ensure that the Health, Safety & Security policies and standards are always adhered to.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, reactive environment.
  • Confident working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong customer‑service focus, excellent communication skills and confidence in challenging customer‑facing environments.
  • A can‑do attitude, first point of contact during emergencies, assisting in investigations related to 'No Water' or 'Loss of Supply' for domestic users and large industrial companies.
  • Ideally, you will already have, or be willing to gain: Disinfection City & Guilds qualification, EUSR Water Hygiene Card, LGV C&E licence.
  • Experience in the deployment and maintenance of CWS and AWS equipment, experience of filling and driving a water tanker.
