We currently have an opportunity for a Tariff Accountant to join our team based in Exeter. Joining us on a full-time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £45,000 – £50,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.

About the role

As our Tariff Accountant, you will focus on delivering clear and comprehensive revenue information to the business. You will be involved from initial tariff preparation through to revenue recognition. This role leads on the preparation and publication of all regulated tariffs in the business (Mains Charges / Developer Services / NAV / Access Pricing for all regions — Bournemouth, Bristol, Isles of Scilly, South West, and Sutton & East Surrey). This role is supported by the Tariff and Commercial Accountant.

What you\’ll be doing

  • Preparing charges and tariffs, including detailed analysis and commentary, and published documents.
  • Leading or assisting (as appropriate) in the development of new charges or charge structures and edits to existing charges.
  • Coordinating with the Tariff and Non-Household Commercial Accountant to ensure cohesion across all tariff regions.
  • Being the lead contact for external assurance and review on charges.
  • Supporting the preparation of forecasts, budgets, and ad-hoc analysis for projects or management decisions.
  • Maintaining and executing business processes and controls relevant to your region in line with company policies.
  • Key sign-off of charges into billing systems before annual go-live.
  • Leading tariff-related regulatory returns.
  • Supporting responses to Ofwat and industry consultations and queries.
  • Supporting market engagement and communication.

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills.
  • Forecasting and modelling experience.
  • Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-finance individuals.
