We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a Water Quality Technician to join our team based in Exeter. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive starting salary of £25,274 per annum and a supplement of £2,738.51 for working a 1 in 5 weekend pattern. In the development of this role, you will be supported with a Water Quality Technician progression scheme where you can receive up to £29,518 per annum, plus a range of excellent company benefits and rewards.
Progression Scheme:As part of your employment package, the successful candidate will enrol onto a company progression scheme consisting of a Level 2 NVQ qualification in Monitoring the Water Environment, which focuses on the procedures, skills and experiences to meet the requirements of the scheme. The Company will fully fund the equipment and training required.
Responsibilities:- Undertaking sampling duties from source to tap to ensure that all regulatory, operational monitoring and customer service requirements are met.
- Complying with the Company’s Health, Safety & Security policies.
- Ensuring effective planning and delivery of sampling, monitoring and customer support activities.
- Providing sampling support to Water Quality staff.
- Complying with and suggesting improvements to the Company’s Quality Management Systems.
- Maintaining and improving the standard of customer contact, to ensure that the Company image is upheld and promoted.
- Being aware when ‘trigger point’ and reporting triggers have been reached, ensuring that reporting is prompt to minimise any impact from these situations.
- Providing monitoring support during events and incidents.
- Assisting Water Quality Scientists in the effective and timely resolution of customer contacts.
- Seeking to utilise resources available at minimum cost, ensuring equipment and records are maintained to the required standard.
- Reporting on-site asset conditions.
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths, English and a Science subject at grade C or above.
- A full UK driving licence as you will be required to attend our sites across the region on a daily basis.
- The ability to follow procedures to the exacting standards demanded by the Regulator and business.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to keep accurate records.
- A logical approach to tasks and the confidence to use initiative when circumstances dictate.
- Good geographical knowledge of the Southwest and happy to work outdoors in all weathers.
- The ability to deliver to time, cost, quality and performance targets.
- An understanding of the requirements of Quality Management Systems, e.g. ISO 9001 and ISO 17025.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office and confidence when using computers and learning new systems.
