We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a Network Maintenance Technician to join our team based in Barnstaple North Devon, although you will be expected to travel to other areas if the business requires it. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £26,926 – £33,950 per annum, development opportunities in line with our company progression scheme, standby and overtime, and a range of excellent company benefits + rewards.
About the Role:
As a Network Maintenance Technician, no day will be the same when you provide high-quality customer service and maintain strong relationships with various key stakeholders. You’ll use your skills, knowledge, and experience to provide crucial operational maintenance to assets including service reservoirs and PRVs and to provide general maintenance to sites and buildings. You will also support activities within the Network Service Delivery teams. This team is scheduled to participate in the standby and call-out rotas, which is expected once you complete your training.
What You\’ll be Doing:
- Ensuring that the Health, Safety & Security policies and standards are always adhered to
- Undertaking maintenance tasks on all Network assets and premises to ensure they are maintained, serviceable, and operationally efficient
- Working in accordance with all associated QMS procedures and maintaining awareness of them through self-learning/understanding
- Being aware of and compliant with all environmental protection requirements related to maintenance activities
- Supporting the effective delivery of supply interruption mitigation techniques, including active involvement in planned and reactive deployment in and out of hours
- Supporting and undertaking other activities within the Water Distribution network to ensure its operation
- Carrying out all tasks to prevent contamination and knowing what actions to take in the event of contamination or suspected contamination
- Participating in standard standby and call-out rotas as necessary to maintain the effective delivery of Drinking Water Service
- Maintaining good relations with customers, public authorities, other bodies, and colleagues by working within the required levels of customer service
- Service reservoir cleaning, including confined space entry
What We Are Looking For:
- Full UK B driving license; B+E (Desired)
- Good general education with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
- EUSR Water Hygiene Certificate (Desired)
- Proven experience working within a water supply environment
- Ability to maintain buildings and structures
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Experience working independently and as part of a team
- Experience providing high-quality internal and external customer service
