About the Role

At South West Water, water is one of our most valuable resources. As a Water Resources Business Partner, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, sustainable, and resilient management of water resources across the Pennon Group.

This role supports operations across our Bristol, Bournemouth and SES Water areas, working closely with local operational teams to optimise water resource performance, maintain regulatory compliance, and support long-term resilience planning. You will provide expert guidance, influence decision-making across the business, and work closely with internal teams, regulators, and external stakeholders to help secure reliable water supplies for our customers and communities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of water resources operational strategies.

  • Monitoring compliance with abstraction and impounding licences and providing performance reporting.

  • Building strong relationships with regulators, including the Environment Agency, and acting as a key business contact.

  • Identifying and mitigating risks that could impact water resource operations.

  • Supporting and training colleagues on operational procedures and water resource strategies.

  • Collaborating across multiple teams to ensure alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice.

What We're Looking ForEssential

  • Experience working within the water industry.

  • Strong understanding of water resources operations and management.

  • Experience developing and implementing operational or business strategies.

  • Ability to work effectively with regulators, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and support business decisions.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • High level of numeracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
