We are seeking an experienced 2-person civils team to support telecoms infrastructure projects across the UK. The team will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of ducting, chambers, and associated infrastructure to facilitate fibre network deployment. This is a field-based role requiring a strong understanding of telecoms civils work, adherence to health and safety regulations, and the ability to deliver high-quality workmanship within set deadlines. It will be a crew of 2, with their own van and equipment, for work near Bridgend, Wales and/or the Midlands (first builds are Rubery and Hurley).
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out excavation works including narrow trenching, slot cutting, and open cut excavations.
Backfill and reinstate surfaces to required standards (footpaths, carriageways, verges).
Install ducting, draw pits, joint boxes, and associated telecoms infrastructure.
Rod, rope, and cable ducts as required.
- Compliance & Safety:
Ensure compliance with NRSWA, HAUC, and all relevant health and safety requirements.
Maintain accurate site records, risk assessments, and method statements.
Work safely around utilities, following safe digging practices.
- Team Operations:
Operate as a self-sufficient 2-person team, managing daily tasks and schedules.
Liaise with supervisors, planners, and local authorities as required.
- Equipment & Maintenance:
Operate and maintain plant and equipment (mini-diggers, breakers, compaction tools).
Conduct pre-use checks and report any defects.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Valid CSCS or ECS card.
- Experience in telecoms civils works (Openreach, CityFibre, or similar networks).
- Full UK driving licence (with towing licence preferred).
- Confined Space and First Aid training (advantageous).
- Ability to read and interpret utility drawings and plans.
- Proven track record of working as a 2-person civils team delivering to high standards.
- Strong problem-solving abilities on site.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.
