Location: Ferndown, Dorset

Job Type: Ongoing Temporary (with the opportunity to become permanent)

Salary: £14.50 per hour with occasional overtime paid at 1.5x

Hours: 39 hours per week, Days Monday - Thursday: 7.30am - 4.45pm, Friday: 7.30am - 12.30pm

We are recruiting for an ongoing Temporary Sheet Metal Worker to join a well-established and respected precision engineering manufacturer based in Ferndown, Dorset. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy production team manufacturing high-quality precision engineered components for a range of demanding industries. The role is ongoing temporary, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate based on performance and business requirements.

The Role

As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for manufacturing and assembling precision sheet metal components, ensuring all work is completed accurately and to a high standard. Your duties will include:

  • Manufacturing and fabricating sheet metal components from engineering drawings.
  • Cutting, folding, forming and assembling sheet metal parts.
  • Operating a range of sheet metal machinery and hand tools.
  • Carrying out drilling, tapping, countersinking and other finishing operations where required.
  • Checking components against drawings and quality standards.
  • Working with a variety of materials including stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Working closely with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing deadlines.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience working as a Sheet Metal Worker within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using sheet metal machinery and associated hand tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A reliable and flexible attitude towards work.
