The Shift Team Leader reports to the Extrusion Manager and is responsible for overseeing all operational activities during the shift. This role ensures production efficiency, team productivity, and compliance with company procedures, health and safety standards, and quality expectations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead, oversee, and motivate production operators to maintain high levels of productivity and work quality.
- Ensure production activity aligns with the production plan, procedures, and standards.
- Promote a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety rules and housekeeping standards.
- Ensure compliance with H.B. Fuller's Quality and HSE policies, internal procedures, and work instructions.
- Execute the production plan and ensure accurate completion of SAP transactions.
- Conduct performance reviews, return-to-work meetings, and investigations related to quality or performance issues.
- Support operational excellence through continuous improvement of processes.
- Supervise up to 20 production operatives.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a similar supervisory role.
- Previous experience as a Production Operator.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
- Ability to clearly instruct and support team members across all responsibilities.
- Flexible and willing to take on additional duties as needed.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience using SAP or other production-related systems.
- Exposure to continuous improvement or lean manufacturing environments.
- Supervisory experience within a chemical, adhesives, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong conflict resolution and team leadership skills.
