Job Description
Our client is a family-run team of commercial catering engineers and equipment installers and who is seeking a skilled and motivated Refrigeration Engineer to join their growing team. Based in Ringwood, they serve a wide range of clients across the South of England, including high-profile customers and exciting projects such as AFC Bournemouth's new training ground facility.
In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration equipment, including undercounter units, freestanding fridges, walk-in freezers, and ice machines. Responsibilities
- Installation & Commissioning: Unpack, assemble, and install refrigeration equipment, ensuring proper connection to gas, electricity, water, and drainage systems.
- Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks as specified by manufacturers to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
- Repairs: Diagnose faults, repair or replace faulty components, and test equipment to ensure functionality.
- Compliance: Adhere to F-Gas regulations and other safety standards, ensuring the safe handling of refrigerants and hazardous materials.
- Customer Interaction: Liaise with venue personnel, including chefs, catering managers, and facilities managers, to understand requirements and manage expectations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work completed, including service reports and equipment logs.
- Team Collaboration: Work independently or alongside other engineers and supervisors on larger projects.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Certification in Refrigeration Engineering, HVAC, or a related field.
- Experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical wiring, and electronic controls.
- F-Gas certification or willingness to obtain it.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- A valid driver's license and confidence in driving a van.
Preferred:
- Experience working in diverse venues such as restaurants, supermarkets, or industrial settings.
- Familiarity with compliance regulations related to refrigeration systems and refrigerant use.

Day-to-Day
- Plan your schedule and logistics to meet customer requirements.

- Work independently or as part of a team, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all work.
