We are recruiting for a Production Team Leader for a global manufacturing company in Lymington, Hampshire. The company produces innovative Tapes and Sealants that are supplied to some of the world's biggest names in the construction industry. For 50 years they have been designing, engineering and producing tapes that have found their way around the world from the manufacturing and sales HQ in Lymington. Continuous development in Research and Design and manufacturing technologies keeps them at the forefront of tapes technology.
Salary: Annual salary up to £40,000 per annum based on experience
Hours / Rotating Shift pattern: 40 hours per week. Early Finish on Friday
- Week 1: Mon - Thurs 06:00-14:00, Fri 06:00-11:00
- Week 2: Mon - Thurs 14:00 - 22:00, Fri 11:00-16:00
Initial training will take place on 8am-4pm shift for 6-8 weeks before moving onto the rotating shift pattern.
The Role: The main responsibility will be supporting the Mix Manager and the mix team to ensure safely produced, on time in full mix, delivered just in time for both extruder floor and cold feed hall. Mix planning, stock management, training and labour planning are all key in the success of the Mix area.
Main purpose of the job:
- Ensure all Mix Team members are working safely and following all Health and Safety requirements for the role they are undertaking.
- Ensure the safe and efficient production of mix on time in full as dictated by the extruder floor plan.
- Look to improve the labour utilisation within the Mix area, through cross training and accurate labour planning.
- Ensure raw materials are well organised and well managed through regular and accurate stock takes.
- Take responsibility for H&S issues and report them both accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate with all other functions, factually and in a timely manner at the morning planning meeting and production meeting.
- Improve housekeeping standards across the Mix area.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- 5 years of Factory experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding computer skills with specific focus on excel and SAP.
- Outstanding communication skills - able to communicate at all levels of the business.
- Outstanding problem solving and troubleshooting skills, able to get to root-cause.
- Accurate recording of daily activity, material usage and production performance.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement activities.
- Quick learning style with the ability to transfer learnings to others without dilution.
- Driven with a desire to succeed and high levels of resilience.
