We are recruiting for a Permanent Multi Trade Plumber for the local Council in Bournemouth, Dorset. We are looking for passionate people who have worked on the installation of adapted living aids, preferred, but not essential, the installation of level access shower rooms, which may include the digging and screeding of concrete floors.
You will have a proven track record as a multi‑trade person, with a strong background in the installation of bathrooms, which will include tiling, boxing and the installation of sanitary wear. You will have your own tools required to undertake domestic plumbing, showers, waste pumps, radiator moves as well as basic carpentry to create boxing, occasional studwork, installing tuff form trays and some minor dot‑and‑dab plastering and bonding walls.
Be qualified, level two or greater in plumbing and heating or equivalent, be qualified or have a great understanding of WRAS Water Supply Regs or proven time served in a multi‑trade role.
Salary: £41,300 (PAYE) depending on experience
Hours: 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday (39 hours per week)
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Level access shower room installation – proficiency in installing level access shower rooms, including pre‑formed trays and excavation and screeding of floors.
- Tiling – tiling bathrooms with non‑large format tiles, ensuring high‑quality finishes.
- Plumbing and heating – Level 2 qualified or proven time‑served experience; references required upon interview.
- General building works – knowledge of door widening and stud work.
- Bathroom boxing and fittings – experience in creating boxing within bathrooms and fitting handrails and wash‑dry toilets, including waste pumps.
- Valid, current driving licence (van provided).
- Hardworking, enthusiastic, with good people skills and ability to work independently.
- Experience of working on disability adaptations is essential.
- Comfortable using an iPad for planning, forms, inspection certification and email communication.
All uniform and PPE provided. No unspent criminal convictions. Basic DBS check required.
