Norse Groups Support Services Division has an exciting opportunity within our Payroll Department for a Trainee Payroll Advisor to join the team based at our Head Office on Fifers Lane, Unity Place. This position is being offered on a full time, permanent contract working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The role

  • As the Trainee Payroll Advisor, you will undertake a number of duties within the payroll team including maintaining accurate payroll information, processing timesheets, responding to daily enquiries and assisting with payroll runs and checking reports.
  • Your day to day duties will also include:
    • Undertake formal training
    • Inputting of employee and HMRC data to the payroll system.
    • Completion of information requests from customers and third parties.
    • Working as part of a large team to ensure accurate & timely administration of the payment of wages across 15 payrolls.
    • Continually review own personal development and maintain legislative knowledge.

Our successful candidate

  • The successful candidate will be funded to undertake both an 8- and 30-week online payroll certification programme via Learn Payroll. Upon successful completion, salary will increase to £27,124.87.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant software, including Microsoft Office tools – in particular Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within a business
  • Excellent attitude and proactive approach to work
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment, and prioritise your workload accordingly
  • Any knowledge of payroll processes would be an advantage but not essential
