Medway Norse, working in partnership with Medway Council, has the experience and commercial expertise to deliver cost savings, with a strong focus on local jobs and delivering high quality services. We are looking to recruit an experienced Tree Officer, who will assist the Tree consultant in inspections and management of the tree services including providing technical and professional services and all tree related matters.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure annually that 1/3 of the tree stock has a Visual Tree inspection and make tree works recommendations.
  • Provide technical advice to the planning department on all arboricultural matters.
  • Respond to council departments, local members and members of the public regarding tree related enquiries.
  • Organise new and replacement tree planting plan each year.
  • Monitor arboriculture contracts and prepare tenders.
  • Liaise with and advise council departments and other public and private sector organisations on tree related issues.
  • Respond to emergencies and issue relevant tree works.

Candidate Requirements

  • National Diploma or Equivalent in Arboriculture.
  • Proven experience, ideally in local government.
  • IT literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Be able to set priorities and work to deadlines under pressure.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • High standard of customer service.
  • Driving Licence.
