South West Norse represents the highly successful joint venture partnership between Norse Group and Devon County Council, providing a range of facilities management and contract services across the South West. We are currently recruiting a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join our fast-paced team in Exeter on a Permanent basis to assist with general maintenance queries.
Salary and hours: £29,556.80 pro rata, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5pm
The Role: For this role, you will be required to execute a diverse range of maintenance duties across the site, ranging from caretaking, cleaning and building management in accordance with the relevant guidance and ACOP (Approved Code of Practice). We are therefore seeking an individual with a broad knowledge around maintenance and repair tasks. You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring Health and Safety guidelines, policies and procedures are adhered to
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, both on a pre-planned and reactive basis
- Visiting sites for compliance checks and remedial repairs
- Supervise on-site contractors for major works
- General site maintenance duties including cleaning and hygiene services when required
- Provide efficient portering services within a timely manner under the direction of the Facilities Manager
Our Successful Candidate: Whilst we are happy to provide ongoing support and training in the role, we are looking for you to have some previous experience across a building maintenance, caretaking or facilities management role. This will ideally include delivering a range of minor repairs and site maintenance duties. We will be looking for you to demonstrate:
- Ability to deliver a good level of customer service
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, comfortable engaging with members of the public
- Self-motivated, with the ability to use your own initiative and work effectively under minimal supervision as well as part of a team
