Cook Manager – Freethorpe Primary School
Salary: £27,001.58 pro rata (£13.31 per hour) + 28 days paid holiday entitlement.
The Opportunity
- Temporary Fixed Term position – Covering Maternity Leave.
- 30 hours per week.
- Mon – Fri, 08:00 – 14:00.
Term‑time only position, working 38 weeks per year; pay is pro rata with 1/12th of salary paid monthly.
A Day In The Life
Manage the kitchen team, prepare, cook and serve lunches for young people and school staff, ensuring an engaging and interactive dining experience for all. Support food safety, health and safety and food allergens, and work with menu, promotions and compliance teams to provide menu cycles, special diet menus and promotional posters. Use an electronic tablet and kitchen management system for communication and paperwork minimisation.
What Are We Looking For?
Previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment with an organised approach, good understanding of the food industry, costs and budgeting. Passion for delivering fantastic customer service, strong communication skills and adaptable approach to work. Commitment to the core values:
