We are seeking individuals who are friendly, approachable, compassionate and motivated with good communication skills. The successful candidate will provide care to service users, undertake clinical tasks with supportive supervision as required, and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. You will be passionate about mental health, believe in the recovery model and our Trust values, and demonstrate a commitment to learning and keeping yourself abreast of local and national services.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality, safe nursing care, ensuring consistently high standards of practice and clinical excellence in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct.
  • Lead the delivery of comprehensive service‑user assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person‑centred care in a collaborative way.
  • Co‑ordinate a first‑class service that includes assessment and monitoring of physical health, upholding service‑user rights, supervising junior staff and students, working with the multidisciplinary team, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment and accurate records.
  • Be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
  • Carry out all relevant forms of care and regularly take charge of the ward.
  • Supervise junior staff, acting as key nurse for a defined group of patients and, in the absence of a colleague, as associate nurse.
  • Participate fully in audit and quality‑assurance initiatives, with particular emphasis on a "customer first" approach.
  • Act as a role model for colleagues and service users alike.

Qualifications

Band 5 nursing roles are open only to staff who hold a nursing registration obtained after completing a qualification recognised by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). The successful candidate must be a Registered Nurse.
