Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow Post (1.0 WTE) available immediately, until August 2026 in the first instance. The vacancy has arisen due to a post holder being on a career break leave.
Training Scheme Locations:
- Sutton, Merton & Wandsworth (3 posts in total, with SW London & St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust)
- Kingston & Richmond (2 posts, with Your Healthcare)
Additional Post Availability:
We also have 3 approved CT1-3 posts in Psychiatry of LD across our St George’s / SW London region.
Scope and Opportunities:
Access to protected formal training academic programmes and other personal development opportunities. Full‑time role with opportunities to be on the Trust’s SW London & St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust on‑call rota (dependent on level of training and Sec 12 approval status). Develop enhanced competencies in working with people with mild to profound learning disabilities presenting with the full range of mental health problems and/or challenging behaviours, including:
- The Care Programme Approach (CPA)
- Neuropsychiatry (including epilepsy)
- Neurodevelopmental disorders (including autism and ADHD)
- Psychopharmacology
- Psychosocial management
- Liaison with other health and social care professionals
- Facilitating access to mainstream mental health services
- Working with service users and partners to develop services in line with local needs and national policy
Career Pathways:
All posts are community‑based and suitable for those wishing to pursue a future specialist registrar (ST4‑6) or specialty doctor training path in any community‑based psychiatric specialty (learning disability, general / old age psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, forensic psychiatry, CAMHS).
