We are seeking an individual to play a key role in delivering our Health Inequalities Strategy and the Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF). The role involves using lived experience to advocate for people from racialised and underserved communities, providing peer support, and working alongside service users, staff and community partners to co‑produce meaningful change.
Responsibilities
- Champion the involvement of people with lived experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of services, particularly in implementing PCREF priorities.
- Facilitate regular debriefs and reflective spaces to gather feedback and share insights with leadership.
- Work closely with the Involvement & Co‑production Team, Associate Director of Health Inequalities, and community partners to embed co‑produced approaches throughout the Trust.
- Support the development of peer‑led initiatives addressing health inequalities and racial disparities.
- Strengthen links with voluntary and grassroots organisations to ensure under‑represented communities are actively involved in service design and delivery.
- Promote trust, inclusion and accessibility in engagement activities.
- Disseminate accessible information about health inequalities, PCREF and involvement opportunities across the Trust and communities.
- Support service users in understanding and exercising their rights, including access to advocacy and co‑produced care planning.
- Contribute to training and development for staff and peer workers on culturally competent, anti‑racist and inclusive practice.
- Support the recruitment, mentoring and supervision of new peer support workers from diverse backgrounds.
- Complete other duties as required within the grade of the job, in discussion with the Associate Director of Health Inequalities or other senior staff.
