Role Overview
The Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist will provide medical leadership to the Kingston Hospital Liaison Psychiatry Team, working closely with the Team Manager to ensure a safe, efficient service that meets the Trust’s Key Performance Indicators.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team in delivering safe and high-standard clinical care.
- Participate in audit and clinical governance.
- Resolve issues independently and raise concerns to the Team Manager when necessary.
- Provide medical leadership across the whole over-18 age spectrum, with particular focus on patients over 65.
- Deliver Section 12 coverage for the acute hospital (9 am–5 pm) and oversee coverage for ED and AAU working age patient presentations.
- Coordinate with other consultants and associate specialists.
- Lead Section 12 cover for older adults presentations in the acute hospital.
- Collaborate in joint teaching to medical students, junior doctors and nurses.
