We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist (0.8 WTE) for a 12‑month secondment to cover maternity leave, to join Kingston CAMHS, an established Tier 3/Getting More Help service supporting children, young people and families with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. The service is multidisciplinary, comprising psychiatry, psychology, family therapy and nursing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological assessment, formulation and therapy to individuals and groups.
  • Contribute to teaching, supervision, service development, research and audit.
  • Provide clinical and professional supervision to Band 7 Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists and trainees on placement, subject to experience.
  • Participate in integrated working across the South London Partnership with SLaM EDS.
  • Support the development and implementation of evidence‑based interventions in line with CYP IAPT methodology.
  • Conduct risk assessment and management for young children and their parents/carers.
  • Maintain accurate and accessible health‑care records in accordance with Trust policy and Information Governance.
  • Communicate treatment plans and progress to relevant agencies in a skilled and sensitive manner.
  • Monitor progress of interventions against CYP IAPT minimum data set standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young people with mental health difficulties.
  • Band 7 (or Band 8a) psychologist currently employed.
  • Strong assessment, formulation and therapeutic skills.
  • Evidence of teaching, supervision or audit experience is desirable.
