The South West Heritage Trust (the Trust) wishes to appoint an appropriately experienced consultant to coordinate its National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) Second Round development phase and to write the NLHF delivery grant application for a nationally important heritage project.

Outline of Work

The NLHF Project Coordinator/Bid Writer will oversee and advise the client on work required for the NLHF Second Round Development Phase to ensure it meets NLHF Approved Purposes and that it meets the intended November 2026 submission deadline. The role will include:

  • Advise and support the client in coordinating and preparing documentation required for NLHF Permission to Start.
  • Advise and support the client in commissioning and managing consultants undertaking key pieces of work and preparing reports and plans required for the NLHF Second Round application. This is expected to include: Activity Plan, Evaluation Plan, Conservation Management Plan and Capital Works, Management and Maintenance Plan, Fundraising Consultant.
  • Coordinate with the project team to detail how the project will meet NLHF funding outcomes and agree outcomes with client.
  • Attend monthly Project Team meetings to report on progress, to provide expert advice to the client regarding the NLHF development phase process and requirements, and to seek decisions as required.
  • Review NLHF commissioned work and input into the development of these plans and documents. Ensure proposed costs are reflective of NLHF requirements (e.g. in respect of delivery phase evaluation) and actively highlight if they are not.
  • Advise and support the client in coordinating/writing other Supporting Documents required for the Second Round application, such as delivery phase detailed costs, timetable and risk register.
  • Identify any gaps or areas where additional work is required to ensure all documents are compliant with the needs of the NLHF.
  • Support the client in writing NLHF development phase progress reports and prepare for and attend NLHF progress meetings.
  • Prepare for and attend Development Review and take follow-up actions required.
  • Prepare draft NLHF Second Round application for client approval.
  • Amend as required and prepare for submission, including uploading all documents required to the NLHF portal.
  • Submit final NLHF Second Round application.
  • Assist with queries from NLHF arising during the Second Round assessment process.
