The South West Heritage Trust invites proposals from experienced evaluation consultants with a strong track record in evaluating major National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) projects to provide the delivery-phase evaluation of the Chew Valley Hoard Project.

The Chew Valley Hoard project will create a new gallery at the Museum of Somerset for the permanent display of the Chew Valley Hoard and deliver an ambitious two-year public programme that will engage audiences in innovative and diverse ways, develop skills and improve organisational sustainability.

The consultant will implement the Evaluation Plan developed during the project’s development phase to independently assess and evaluate the impact of this multifaceted capital and activity project to ensure that the learning generated through it is captured, shared and used to inform our work and that of the wider sector.

Terms and Timescale:

Contract type: Freelance assignment commencing March 2026 and running to June 2028

Budget/Fee: Up to £20,000 exclusive of VAT

Location: Primarily home based with occasional site visits

Responsible to: Head of Development and Partnerships
