South West Durham Training is a leading provider of vocational education and training, dedicated to delivering high-quality, industry-relevant learning experiences. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Skills Trainer to support across our curriculum to join our team.
As Skills Trainer, you will play a key role in supporting apprentices throughout their apprenticeship journey by delivering high-quality training, coaching, and guidance. Working closely with both apprentices and employers, the successful candidate will help learners develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to achieve occupational competence in line with apprenticeship standards.
You will work with a diverse group of learners, supporting their development of industry-standard skills in a hands-on learning environment. This role is ideal for a trades professional with a passion for sharing their knowledge.
Applicants should have:
- A minimum level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
- Level 3 Assessors qualification
- Level 2 in maths and English
Applicants must also have experience of:
- Delivering training and assessing on a range of Fab and Weld courses
- Fab/Weld and Metalsmith functions and roles
- Coaching, mentoring, or training apprentices/employees
- Using IT systems and Microsoft Office software
- Producing assessment and teaching materials
- Carrying out learner progress reviews and providing feedback
