Company Description South West Construction Academy is an award-winning training provider located in City Of Bristol. We specialise in delivering training to plumbing, gas, and electrical apprentices, including site assessments. As a reputable training provider, we are committed to providing high-quality education and skills training to our students. Role Description This is a part-time hybrid role for a Freelance Functional Skills Tutor and Assessor at South West Construction Academy in the City Of Bristol. 35 hours per month, £17 per hour. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective training sessions to a small cohort of apprentices, assessing their progress, and providing constructive feedback to help them succeed in their Maths and English Functional Skills, which will enable them to acheive in their plumbing, gas, and electrical apprenticehip courses. Initial assessments and diagnostic assessments are carried out at the beginning of their apprenticeship using the NCFE skills system, learners are then given an individual learning plan which is tailored to their needs. You will monitor their progress and support them where needed. You will also schedule classroom sessions to support learners and prepare them for exams and assessments. You will carry out Speaking, Listening and Communication assessments in our centre, working to NCFE standards and curriculum. Qualifications Teaching, tutoring, or training experience Knowledge of Level 2 functional skills in Maths & English, including qualifications in each subject Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to effectively assess and evaluate apprentices – an assessor qualification or equal is required Experience working with apprentices or students in a vocational setting would be advantageous Previous experience in related fields Hours 35 hours per month, £17 per hour.
