Overview

The opportunity has arisen for an experienced Specialty Doctor to join the community Specialist Palliative Care teams in Rugby and South Warwickshire. The successful applicant will join an established team of consultants and clinical nurse specialists in two areas across Warwickshire. This is a new post to increase medical support in two SWFT community teams. It is anticipated that the Palliative Care teams across SWFT will continue to grow over the next few years, creating opportunities for further development into services for patients with non-malignant diagnoses. Both Rugby and South Warwickshire have a weekly MDT. The South Warwickshire MDT is integrated with the Warwick Hospital Palliative Care Team and is attended by the three local hospices. The MDTs are supported by the senior Palliative Care secretaries. Both teams are supported by Palliative Care secretaries.

Job responsibilities

The successful candidate would be expected to work across the community specialist palliative care teams in Rugby and South Warwickshire. It is expected that this would be 2 days in Rugby and 3 days in South Warwickshire with some flexibility needed at times of annual leave. The post holder will be expected to undertake a minimum of 50 hours CPD per year, and time is given in SPA time for this.
