This is a 12-month fixed-term appointment, starting in August 2025. Applications from doctors with any specialty background are welcomed. There is no requirement to join an on-call rota.

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) is a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Warwick Medical School (WMS) and the University of Buckingham Medical School (uBMS). We are seeking Clinical Education Fellows to join our medical education team, providing education and training to medical students and resident doctors.

Main duties of the job

The role supports undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Post holders will teach medical students in hospital and university settings, and will have opportunities to mentor doctors in training. Our education fellows will be involved in teaching a broad range of topics across both universities and postgraduate levels, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

Job responsibilities

Medical student teaching varies daily, from bedside teaching for Phase I students to revision sessions for final-year students. This includes small group workshops, lectures, and simulation-based education. All teaching materials are provided, with ongoing resource development throughout the academic year. The Trust has an off-site education facility (Acorn House) with two fully equipped simulation suites, high-fidelity mannequins, advanced audio-visual equipment, and a multidisciplinary simulation faculty. All clinical educators will have opportunities to participate in running and developing simulation sessions.
