About The Team/Department You Will Be Joining
Located at our Police Headquarters, BRIDGEND. We’re looking for a talented and creative Senior Communications Officer to join our Digital and Content Team, where you will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining high‑quality digital content that reflects our brand. With a strong understanding of audience needs and emerging online trends, you will ensure that our digital channels remain engaging, accessible, and aligned with force priorities, helping us communicate effectively with our communities and workforce.
In this role, you will provide expert advice on digital communications, offering guidance on best practice, accessibility, and meaningful online engagement. You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and escalating risk across online platforms, supporting the organisation to respond appropriately.
Working closely with colleagues across the wider Communications and Media Team, you will help plan and deliver clear, consistent, and proactive communications that enhance trust and confidence in the force. As Senior Communications Officer of the Digital and Content Team, you will support and develop staff, encourage collaboration, and play a key role in the delivery of our Communications Strategy.
About The Role And Your Key Responsibilities
An opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent Senior Communications Officer. The successful person will work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will be expected to perform on-call duties. While the force supports flexible work, you will be expected to work from HQ regularly.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
- A relevant degree or at least three years’ experience working in a communications role.
- Must have experience of managing content for digital platforms and overseeing and developing social media platforms.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Creative skills and problem‑solving aptitude.
- Sufficient experience in Microsoft Office programs.
- Be able to work as a member of a team.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
Please note the successful candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to the required level MV/SC.
