As an ICT Senior Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our ICT infrastructure and providing technical assistance to our staff. We have recently invested heavily in our ICT department with exciting new projects and opportunities funded by significant investment. The role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure. The ICT Senior Engineer - Networks will provide the technical resources necessary to support business continuity for a 24/7 emergency policing service and its external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Implement network security including firewall configurations, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control lists.
- Maintain the network architecture including Cisco routers and switches and Cisco ASA / Firepower firewalls & troubleshoot any issues that develop.
- Manage Meraki firewalls / SD-WAN Appliances.
- Assist with the maintenance of Cisco AnyConnect VPN / NAM / ISE.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of a CISCO ACI network.
- Manage the performance of major routing protocols such as EIGRP and OSPF.
- Conduct network capacity planning and support the roll-out of upgrades and improvements across LAN / WLAN / WAN / Wi-Fi / MPLS / SD-Access and Data Centre.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in an ICT related subject.
- Cisco Certified – preferably CCNP.
- Demonstratable equivalent skills or experience in networking.
- Experience of designing, installing, configuring and managing an on-premise network infrastructure including layer 2 and 3 switching and routing.
- Experience of managing network security hardware and software, including firewalls and network intrusion detection systems.
- Experience of network hardware and software including Cisco and Meraki solutions.
- In-depth understanding of datacentre network architectures, ICT disaster recovery strategies, and LAN / WLAN / WAN / Wi-Fi / MPLS / SD-Access networking technologies.
