Care Advocate

We are looking to recruit a Care Advocate to join us at HavenCourt. You should have experience working in the care of older people, re‑ablement services and/or those with dementia.

About HavenCourt

HavenCourt is an innovatively designed and purpose‑built Nursing Home located on Harton Lane, South Shields. We specialise in residential and nursing care, dementia care and re‑enablement, providing high‑quality health and social care services to residents across South Tyneside.

HavenCourt opened in 2016 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust.

Responsibilities

You will have practical experience of implementing person‑centred care, effective communication and problem‑solving skills. You will be caring and compassionate, able to work calmly under pressure and committed to respecting the rights of residents at all times.

You will be flexible to meet the needs of the service and able to meet the requirements of the shift pattern, which includes long days, early, late and night shifts. The roster covers 7 days a week, 24 hours per day. Full‑time, part‑time and flexible working is available, and consideration will be given to a predominately night‑shift roster if requested. Your training and developmental learning needs will be supported.

As a Care Advocate, the postholder will provide direct, individualised care to service users, promoting a caring environment through high standards of professional practice that are conducive to the needs of the individuals, their carers and families.

The postholder will ensure that each service user receives care appropriate to their individual needs and will implement and exceed the requirements of the agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations and company policies and procedures.

PLEASE NOTE: The Trust is not able to offer Skilled Worker Sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the UKVI threshold requirements. Applicants are requested to consider this when making their application. Please visit Gov.UK for further information.
