About the School: Epinay Business & Enterprise School is an outstanding special school that provides 255 places to pupils from KS1 to KS5. Our pupils have significant learning difficulties and/or diagnosed learning disabilities who are working significantly below age related expectations. Many experience barriers in cognition, processing, literacy, numeracy and communication which require highly specialised teaching approaches. All pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and benefit from personalised learning programmes, specialist teaching approaches and a holistic, multi-disciplinary model to education. In addition to their learning needs, pupils may have some social communication differences, speech and language needs, sensory processing differences and a diagnosis of Autism. Some pupils may also present with social vulnerability and require targeted support to develop independence and resilience. Role Overview: We are looking to appoint an inspirational primary teacher to join our outstanding team. As a teacher within the primary phase, you will lead a class, supported by a dedicated team of teaching assistants. You will deliver our tailored schemes of work to create a nurturing, highly structured and sensory friendly classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a curriculum that prioritises communication, independence and life skills alongside academic milestone development.
- Implement, review and track academic progress and individual EHCP outcomes.
- Utilise a range of communication and behaviour strategies to ensure learning is accessible for all.
- Lead, deploy and manage classroom support staff effectively to create a cohesive team.
- Work closely with internal and external agencies and therapists.
- Maintain close, supportive communication with parents and carers.
Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required, with a strong understanding of sensory differences, causes of dysregulation, and experience working with children with complex special educational needs and disabilities. Applicants should demonstrate resilience, creativity, and patience required to support a complex cohort of pupils. A background in MPS/UPS + SEN1 is desirable.
