Ridgeway Primary Academy is seeking to appoint an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to start on 1 September 2026. You will study for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship for 18 months and will be supported by mentors from Tyne Coast College. You will work as an Apprentice Teaching Assistant supporting teachers and pupils in the classroom in lessons and become an integral part of the school support team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting staff to prepare for lessons/activities
  • Helping create a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all pupils
  • Supporting pupils with classroom activities during lessons
  • Organising and leading play activities
  • Assisting with teacher administration and classroom displays
  • Accompanying pupils on trips and other out of school activities
