The Radiology Administrative Team provide a range of secretarial, support and administrative services to our patients and colleagues within the Directorate of Diagnostic Imaging. We expect enthusiasm, flexibility, teamwork, respect and compassion. Main duties of the job
This is a cross-site Post – you will be expected to work at both South TynesideHospital and Sunderland Royal Hospital as and when required.
Asa Support Secretary you will work closely within a team of secretarial andother administrative staff, providing a wide range of secretarial duties tosupport the Radiology Department. Youwill be involved in supporting our clinical teams, urgent reporting processes, appointmentsprocesses and general enquiries, providing excellent and timely administrative services toour patients.
This is a demandingbut very rewarding Post, dealing with patients and staff inside and outside ofthe Trust and will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills anda professional, friendly and approachable manner.
Youshould be educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with passes in English Language andMaths or equivalent literacy and numeracy Level 2 skills, or an NVQ Level 2 orequivalent vocational experience.Effective IT skills are essential as all work is undertaken using avariety of software packages. You willhave significant experience of working within administrative team using allRadiology IT systems, including Soliton and Meditech.

Job responsibilities

Qualifications
- Level 2 literacy & numeracy GCSE Maths and English Language C or above, or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent vocational experience which provides a working knowledge of:
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- RSA II Typewriting, Word Processing.
Experience
- Working in a busy office environment.
- Communicating with people at all levels.
- Previous medical administration experience.
- Previous patient pathway and RTT experience.
- Previous medical secretarial experience.
Skills & Knowledge
- Soliton and Meditech.
- IT expertise including advanced keyboard skills.
- Organisational skills.
