We provide a comprehensive Care Certificate Programme(which consists of both classroom and self-directed study) that will supportyou in achieving the competencies and skills required to deliver high-qualityand safe patient care.
It is a condition of employment that all RadiologyAssistant/Support Workers attend and complete a Care Certificate and achievetheir competencies within 12 weeks of commencing in Post. Progression to a Band3 is on satisfactory completion of the Care Certificate and a period ofconsolidated learning.
You will progress toBand 3 Radiology Assistant / Support Worker on completion or in receipt ofhealthcare Certificate.
Main duties of the job
As a RadiologyAssistant you will support the Radiology department in all areas: Plain FilmX-ray, CT scan, MRI, and Ultrasound and Interventional Radiography (site-dependent). Supporting the Team in the provision of a 24/7 service.
Your role willinclude preparing patients for various investigations, acting as chaperone,moving and handling, patient care and use of computers.
It is essential that you have good communication and IT skills.You must be able to demonstrate a caring and compassionate attitude in allaspects of care delivery.
You should be able to demonstrate excellent patientcare, maintain confidentiality, work on your own initiative and as part of ateam, and understand the importance of following standard operating policiesand procedures.

Job responsibilities
To assist radiographers, sonographers and radiologists in carrying-out a wide range ofdiagnostic imaging examinations, including mobile, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT and MRI.

Qualifications
- Maths and English at Level 1 or above (GCSE A-E or
- equivalent) or equivalent healthcare experience.
- Willingness to complete Competency-Based Assessments
- and a portfolio of evidence, in order to achieve the Care
- Certificate and any other training related role.
