The Teaching and Development Coordinator (TDC) is a strategic role focused on embedding high‑quality Teaching, Learning and Assessment (TLA) practices across the organisation. Working collaboratively with curriculum, quality and leadership teams, you will play a key role in supporting and evaluating our TLA strategy to drive continuous improvement in teaching practice and learner outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Embed and evaluate high‑quality TLA practices across the organisation.
  • Co‑ordinate planning, delivery and evaluation of CPD and other staff development activities.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and professional development support to teaching staff.
  • Support self‑assessment, quality improvement planning and inspection readiness, implementing and monitoring actions that enhance teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Travel across the South Thames Colleges Group as required.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment (supported by observation feedback).
  • Experience creating engaging, innovative learning experiences through effective use of digital tools and educational technology.
  • Significant experience supporting High Needs and SEND learners, with a strong understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and strategies to meet a wide range of individual learning needs.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding, PREVENT and the promotion of British Values.
  • Effective communicator, confident in building positive relationships with staff at all levels and in providing coaching and mentoring to both new and established colleagues.
  • Strong understanding of stretch and challenge and their impact on learner progress, able to identify, model and share best practice across the Group.
  • Ability to design and deliver high‑quality staff development (CPD) activities.

Salary and Hours

  • 1 × 36 hours a week over 52 weeks a year – £39,678 – £47,736 per annum.
  • 1 × 18 hours a week over 52 weeks a year – £19,839 – £23,868 per annum.
