The School for Vocational and Technical Studies at South Thames College is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Criminology lecturer to deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students to maximise achievement and continuous improvement.

You will play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum with employer engagement and learner skills development. You will select appropriate assessment methods and criteria, assess the work and progress of students by reference to the criteria and provide constructive feedback to students.

We would like you to be qualified to degree level in an appropriate subject, hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards) and have recent teaching experience in Criminology in an FE College. With a successful record of tutoring and supporting learners and of setting and implementing target setting, monitoring and reviewing progress, you will have strong evidence of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.

With strong working knowledge of the current framework for teaching, learning, assessment and quality assurance, you will have interdisciplinary skills and working experience with an advanced level of computer literacy and general office software management skills. You will have effective presentation, delivery and time management skills for a variety of audiences, able to work under pressure and to strict validating body deadlines.

Closing date for the return of completed applications is 22nd January 2026.
