There is an opportunity for a 12 months secondment for a Plain Film Modality Manager.
The Radiology service is dedicated in facilitating continuous professional development and role extension/advanced practice. There are more than 30 Advanced Practitioners within the service, with specialist experience in fluoroscopy/interventional radiology, ultrasound, CT, MRI and plain film radiographer reporting.
South Tees Hospitals is the largest hospital trust in the Tees Valley with two acute hospitals and services in a number of community hospitals. The Trust is a designated regional Major trauma centre with a 24-hour acute admissions unit and specialised services in cancer, neurosciences, vascular surgery, spinal injuries, cardiology and renal medicine.
Main duties of the job
Provide effective operational and professional leadership across the Plain Film Modality.
Lead workforce planning, recruitment, retention, rostering and staff development in the Plain Film Modality.
Monitor plain film x-ray activity, performance, quality and financial targets.
Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and professional requirements.
Support service transformation and service developements.
Work collaboratively with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues.
Promote patient-centred care, staff engagement and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
- BSc or MSc Radiography or DCR(R)
- HCPC Registration
- Management or leadership qualification
Knowledge
- Extensive knowledge and experience within the Plain Film X-Ray services
- Evidence of previous leadership and/or management experience
- Evidence of continuous personal and professional
- Experience of research and clinical audit
- Knowledge of service improvement
Experience
- Manual Handling skills – of patients and complex radiographic equipment.
- Physically fit to able to fully participate in night and weekend working.

New Starters – Probationary Period
For any new employees commencing employment with South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6 month probationary period.
