The Role

As our Senior Property and Facilities Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient operation of all physical assets across our estate (South Staffs Water and Cambridge Water). From operational treatment works and pumping stations to offices, depots, and tenanted properties occupied by group businesses. You will set the strategic direction for facilities management, ensuring the environment, infrastructure and services fully support the delivery of essential water services and meet all regulatory and environmental obligations. This is a high‑impact role that combines strategic planning, operational delivery, compliance leadership and people management across a diverse and multi‑site portfolio. Working closely with the Operations Director and key internal partners, you will drive asset reliability, champion safety, and continuously improve how we manage and optimise our facilities.

What You’ll Need

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience leading facilities or estates management in a regulated, multi‑site or utilities environment
  • Strong understanding of compliance, asset management and maintenance planning
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, contracts and suppliers effectively
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including working with operational teams and external partners
  • Experience ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and industry regulations

Desirable

  • Experience managing water treatment, pumping infrastructure or similar operational assets
  • Experience overseeing tenanted properties or multi‑occupancy sites
  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices within utilities or regulated sectors
  • Familiarity with CAFM systems or project management approaches

Qualifications

  • Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (Essential)
  • NEBOSH, IWFM or water‑industry‑specific qualifications (Desirable)
