Recruitment Advisor (12 Month FTC)

Salary: Up to: £32,000

Location: Walsall, West Midlands

Contract: Full Time 12 month fixed term 37 hours per week

The Role:

South Staffordshire Group are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Recruitment Advisor (FTC) to join our established in-house resourcing team. This role goes beyond filling vacancies. You'll act as a trusted recruitment partner to hiring managers across the Group, helping them make informed hiring decisions, plan future talent requirements, and attract individuals who will contribute to our long-term success.

Working across a diverse range of functions and businesses, you'll build strong relationships with stakeholders, challenge thinking where appropriate, provide expert recruitment advice, and deliver recruitment solutions that support business objectives and workforce plans.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partnering with hiring managers to understand business priorities, workforce challenges and future hiring requirements
  • Acting as a trusted advisor throughout the recruitment lifecycle, providing market insight, recruitment expertise and best practice guidance
  • Leading vacancy briefing sessions to challenge and shape role requirements, ensuring recruitment activity aligns with business needs
  • Managing end-to-end recruitment campaigns across a range of functions and levels
  • Developing recruitment strategies tailored to individual business areas and hard-to-fill roles
  • Creating engaging job adverts and sourcing plans to attract diverse talent
  • Coordinating interviews, assessment centres and selection processes
  • Coaching hiring managers on effective interviewing, candidate assessment and selection decisions
  • Using recruitment data and market intelligence to identify trends and provide recommendations to stakeholders
  • Supporting workforce planning discussions and succession planning initiatives where required
  • Ensuring a positive candidate experience through timely communication and feedback
  • Managing the Applicant Tracking System (Hireful), maintaining accurate candidate records and reporting data
  • Working collaboratively with People Team colleagues to support broader people initiatives and organisational priorities
  • Contributing to continuous improvement projects, recruitment governance and best practice initiatives
  • Championing inclusive recruitment practices and helping managers attract talent from a diverse range of backgrounds

What You'll Need:

  • Previous experience in an in-house or agency recruitment role managing vacancies from attraction through to offer
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credibility and influence hiring managers
  • Ability to challenge constructively and provide expert recruitment advice
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to understand business drivers and translate these into effective recruitment solutions
  • Confidence analysing recruitment data and using insights to support decision-making
  • A consultative approach with a strong focus on building long-term stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing an outstanding candidate experience
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems and recruitment technologies
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of recruitment best practice, compliance and inclusive hiring principles
