The Role

As a Project Manager, you will lead and deliver a portfolio of business‑critical projects from initiation through to successful completion. Working closely with field operations teams, subject matter experts, and external partners, you will ensure projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your experience within the utilities sector will enable you to navigate regulatory requirements, understand operational complexities, and drive effective, sustainable change across the business. This position is currently available on a fixed‑term basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of field‑based projects, ensuring alignment with agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define clear project scopes, objectives, and measurable success criteria
  • Develop and manage project documentation, including plans, risk registers, issue logs, and progress reports
  • Review and assess method statements and risk assessments to ensure safe and compliant delivery
  • Prepare project estimates, forecasts, and financial reports in line with governance frameworks
  • Support procurement activities, including the evaluation of tender submissions where required
  • Monitor project performance against KPIs, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions where necessary
  • Manage project changes effectively, maintaining robust governance throughout the lifecycle
  • Contribute project management expertise to wider business transformation and continuous improvement initiatives

What You’ll Need

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Degree qualification or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management
  • Strong technical or operational background within water or broader utilities sectors
  • Proven experience delivering projects in regulated environments
  • Good working knowledge of CDM regulations and safe systems of work
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships
  • Strong communication skills, with confidence in presenting to a range of audiences
  • A proactive, organised, and self‑motivated approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
