The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Side Leakage Technician to join our Leakage team, supporting leakage detection targets while delivering exceptional customer service. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of water networks or plumbing systems who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and helping customers protect water resources. As a Customer Side Leakage Technician, you will attend residential and commercial properties to investigate potential customer-side leaks and internal plumbing losses. Working independently in the field, you’ll carry out inspections, leak detection activities, and water usage checks, while providing customers with clear advice and support throughout the process. You will play an important role in improving customer experience, reducing water loss, and supporting operational decision-making through accurate data collection and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend customer appointments and conduct on-site inspections to identify customer-side leaks and plumbing losses
- Provide excellent customer service and offer guidance on leak repairs, water efficiency, and preventing future leaks
- Carry out water usage checks and leak detection activities at residential and commercial properties
- Manage customer expectations professionally and respond to enquiries calmly and effectively
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, leak locations, repair recommendations, and customer interactions
- Provide information to support planning, service improvements, and operational decision-making
- Adapt to new technologies and contribute ideas to support team performance and innovation
What You’ll Need
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Knowledge of water networks or plumbing systems (advantageous)
- A valid and current UK driving licence
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a field-based team
- Good PC literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel
