We’re looking for a proactive and safety-focused Network Assistant to support the operation and maintenance of our clean water distribution network. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll help maintain water quality, support network performance, and ensure our assets are operating safely and efficiently.

As a Network Assistant at South Staffs Water, you will play a vital role in supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our clean water distribution network. Working across our regions in a hands-on, field-based capacity, you’ll carry out structured flushing, water quality monitoring, and asset inspections to help maintain high water quality standards and regulatory compliance. This role is essential to ensuring our customers receive clean, clear, great-tasting water every day, while contributing to the overall performance and resilience of the network.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out structured flushing of clean water mains within District Metered Areas (DMAs)
  • Operate valves and hydrants safely to maintain water quality
  • Assist in identifying discolouration risks and implementing corrective actions
  • Provide accurate information to customers when required
  • Support other operational activities as needed
  • Work in full compliance with Health and Safety regulations
