Position
Electrical Lecturer, Permanent, Full time 37 hours per week. Location: Rodbaston Campus. Additional 5% "Golden Hello" payment in year 1.
Safeguarding
All staff will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check, including barred list information, as this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Online searching and references will be conducted as part of safer recruitment practices in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education and KCSIE.
Responsibilities
- Teach across a range of Electrical subjects to Level 3, support high‑quality delivery within the remit of the area of learning, support learners through induction, personal support and initial assessments as required by college policies and procedures.
- Prepare teaching and learning programmes to a high standard using appropriate individual and group techniques, including the effective use of e‑learning activities and materials to encourage active participation.
- Provide support, inspiration and guidance to learners, adopting a flexible approach and demonstrating excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Relevant vocational experience in the electrical field.
- Professional teaching qualification or actively pursuing one.
- Delivery experience and a passion for innovative, interactive teaching sessions.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
Compensation and Benefits
Permanent, full‑time 37 hours per week. Additional 5% "Golden Hello" payment in year 1. Generous holiday scheme – usual Bank Holidays, 5 additional days at Christmas, 2 "ME" days for personal use, and one well‑being day on campus. Paid emergency time off for carers. Minimum pension contribution of 20.9% (higher for Local Government Pension Scheme participants).
