The Financial Advisor plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive financial guidance and investment advice to our valued clients. This expertise helps clients make informed decisions about their financial goals, investment strategies, retirement planning, and wealth management. The Financial Consultant works closely with clients to understand their unique financial needs, assess their risk tolerance, and develop tailored financial plans that align with their objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Conduct thorough financial assessments for clients to understand their current financial situations, future goals, and risk profiles.
  • Provide personalized investment advice and recommendations based on clients' financial objectives, risk tolerance, and time horizons.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop holistic financial plans such as budgeting, investment strategies, retirement planning, estate planning, and tax-efficient solutions.
  • Regularly review and update clients' financial plans to adapt to changing circumstances, market conditions, and life events.
  • Present and explain complex financial concepts in a clear and understandable manner to clients, helping them make informed decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, economic indicators, and financial products to provide accurate and timely advice.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of banking products and services to deepen client relationships.
  • Actively engage in business development activities to expand the client base and achieve sales targets.
  • Develop relationships with banking colleagues. Educate bank partners on wealth management offerings and how to identify and refer prospective wealth management clients.
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
  • Maintain a robust knowledge of the firm’s latest planning tools, techniques and strategies.
  • Inform management of circumstances that require supervisory attention, review, or approval per compliance guidelines and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 (63 and 65 accepted in lieu of 66).
  • Preferred additional designations: Certified Financial Planner and/or Chartered Financial Analyst.
  • Established practice and experience managing client portfolios and driving growth.
  • Proven relationship building and business skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly entrepreneurial.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in an investment climate.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to interpret meaning behind results.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PAY RANGE DISCLOSURE

The pay range for this position is a base salary of $60,000.00 per year plus commission and is the lowest to highest salary South Shore Bank in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The Bank may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.
