We are now looking for a proactive and dedicated Team Leader to join our team and play a key role in delivering an outstanding customer experience.
As a Team Leader, you will play a central role in the day-to-day operation of the centre. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help ensure the smooth and efficient running of the facility, acting as a keyholder and the senior staff member in the absence of the Assistant Centre Managers. You will take responsibility for supervising the centre during your shift, maintaining high standards across all areas, and ensuring that every customer receives a first-class service. This is a varied, hands-on role requiring strong leadership, attention to detail, and a flexible approach.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading an operational team to deliver a high-quality service.
- Overseeing the day-to-day management of the building, its users, and staffing teams.
- Ensuring the centre is well-presented, fully operational, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
- Supporting the Centre Manager and Assistant Centre Managers in the ongoing operation of the facility.
- Working closely with the Fitness Team and Front of House staff, offering guidance and support where needed.
- Assisting poolside with day-to-day tasks, including lifeguarding duties when required.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their leisure career within a dynamic and customer-focused environment.
About You
An RLSS/NPLQ National Pool Lifeguard and a First Aid Qualification are mandatory for this position. However, candidates who do not currently hold these, and who are willing and capable of attaining these qualifications within the first two months of joining will also be considered. You will need to be able to work a combination of early, day and late shifts on a rota basis over a seven-day period to accommodate the centre's opening hours. You will have demonstrable experience of providing customer service, ideally within a leisure environment, together with experience of working within a large and diverse team.
Why Join Us?
We offer flexible working hours for most office-based roles, allowing for a healthy work-life balance. As part of our team, you will enjoy a range of employee benefits, including free onsite parking, employee discounts, a competitive holiday allowance, wellbeing initiatives, and the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. You will be joining a progressive and supportive organisation that is committed to making a positive impact on the communities we serve.
