Are you ready to lead a purpose-driven, independent community-focused organisation into its next chapter? South Liverpool Homes (SLH) is seeking an inspirational Chair to guide our board as we continue to deliver great homes, strong communities, and brighter futures for the people of Speke, Garston and the wider South Liverpool area.
SLH is proud to have achieved the highest regulatory ratings, G1, V1 and C1, for governance, viability and consumer standards. This recognition reflects the dedication and collaboration of our colleagues, the SLH Board, Executive Team and customers, all working together to deliver excellent services to our tenants. We manage approximately 3,830 homes and are committed to investing £52 million to keep them well maintained, safe and energy efficient, as well as building 780 new homes by 2032.
But our role goes far beyond this; we are passionate about delivering services that help our tenants to thrive. The area we serve faces significant challenges, so we deliver services that empower tenants, tackle inequalities and strengthen our neighbourhoods.
As our current Chair of the Board steps down in September 2026, we are looking for a successor with vision, expertise and a genuine passion for making a difference. You will bring senior-level experience from a regulated environment, strong strategic financial acumen and a balanced approach to risk. Most importantly, you will value community, collaboration and the opportunity to shape SLH’s future impact.
You will ensure the board leads and actively contributes to the delivery of SLH’s corporate plan, safeguarding our long-term sustainability and viability. You will set a positive leadership culture, championing a strong customer focus that aligns with our corporate objectives and values. This is more than a leadership position; it is an opportunity to shape the future of our dynamic organisation and the communities we serve.
The time commitment will be circa 3 days per month and the length of term is 3 years per term, for a maximum of 2 terms. We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences who share our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Closing Date: 5pm on 20 February 2026.
